Is it unfair to make this comparison? - or does it just show that social media is becoming more powerful than some people thought?

Or is it all just the latest 'thing' that will fade out and die?

For me.. It's always been here, its not new. Remember chat rooms and forums - by far the most popular places to be 10 years ago. Now with facebook, twitter etc - how you incorporate your business into social media will be the difference between winning and losing in the long run!
